From affordable beginner programs to more competitive leagues, there are plenty of options in San Clemente and the surrounding area. We’ve rounded up the key details for local basketball programs so you can find the best fit for your family—whether your child is just picking up a ball for the first time or looking to level up their skills.

  • Grades: k-8th

  • Program Length: September 29- December 1

  • Practices per week: 1

  • Games: No official games

  • Location: Boys and Girls Club South Coast Area

  • Team Formation / Friend Requests: TBD

  • Uniform: None

  • Cost: $25


  • Ages: 6-9 year olds

  • Program Length: November-March

  • Practices: Same time/place weekly at the Dana Point Community Center

  • Games: Saturdays

  • Location: Dana Point Community Center

  • Team Formation / Friend Requests: Teams based on parent self-rating; 1 friend request allowed (mutual)

  • Uniform: Reversible jersey included

  • Cost: $145


  • Ages / Grades: k-8th

  • Program Length: November- February

  • Practices: Monday–Thursday after 4pm at OGP

  • Games: Fridays after 4pm at OGP

  • Location: OGP

  • Team Formation / Friend Requests: Teams created by player evaluations

  • Uniform: Reversible jersey + shorts included

  • Cost: $395+


  • Ages / Grades: k-8th, girls k-6th

  • Program Length: December-Febuary

  • Practices: Once a week before games for K-2, once a week all other divisions

  • Games: Mostly Saturdays (some Sundays) at San Juan Boys & Girls Club

  • Location: San Juan Boys & Girls Club

  • Team Formation / Friend Requests: Teams created by player evaluations; 1 friend request honored in k-2 divisions

  • Uniform: Reversible jersey + shorts included

  • Cost: $185-$240 depending on age

  • Other info: Girls divisions 3rd-6th grade play inter league games, meaning they will be at various locations in South Orange County


  • Ages / Grades: k-8th

  • Program Length: November- February

  • Practices: once a week at local parks

  • Games: Saturdays at San Clemente High School

  • Team Formation / Friend Requests: Teams created by player evaluations; 1 friend request honored in younger divisions

  • Uniform: Reversible jersey + shorts included

  • Cost: $250

  • Other info: Depending on registration numbers, some older girls divisions may play inter league games at various locations throughout south orange county
